Churches Together in Leyland
Run from St. Mary’s Church with support (food and helpers) from our other CTL churches. This provides food parcels for the needy.
Anyone can go to the presbytery building (walk past the front of the round church to the building facing the road) at St. Mary’s Leyland (on Broadfield Drive) and just ring the bell on the front door. Food parcels are available for the needy for any reason between 10 – 12 Monday to Thursday as that is when the volunteers who run the food bank are there.
The food bank is run on behalf of all the Leyland churches from St. Mary’s, anyone can go and won’t have to see a priest or anything.
Donations of long life items can be made at St. Mary’s at the above times, via your local church or at collecting points near the entrance in Leyland Morrisons or Tesco.

St Vincent de Paul Society
The SVP’s challenge is to bring God’s love to all the suffering, deprived or lonely who are without help, and so bear witness to faith in Jesus Christ.
The SVP members come from different churches in Leyland.
They normally work within the confines of the Leyland town boundary visiting both individuals and families of Christians and Non-Christians alike. Visits are usually made to homes of people whose lives for various reasons are proving somewhat difficult.
The cases that the SVP serve have all sorts of wide ranging needs, be they lonely individuals, single parent families, physically impaired, individuals who are unable to do certain things for themselves and require help with personal problems or other practical needs like furniture and those who have temporarily fallen on hard times.
The SVP help by providing a listening ear, advice, practical help and occasionally limited financial aid if required.
Do You Know Anyone In Need?
If you do and feel a visit may be of help, please contact St Mary’s Church on 01772 455955 and ask the admin staff if they can arrange for an SVP visit to be made.
